From the West Indies merchants carried sugar and molasses, along with guns, gunpowder, and tools to West Africa. Here, they traded these items for slaves, they carried the slaves to the West Indies where they were sold.

Also, the danger of becoming lost and possibility of creating a mutiny. Another danger factor can be diseases or sickness due to lack of vitamin.
What will you do if you actually run into other people? If I actually run into other people I would learn about the new environment and how to adapt to the new land. Also, I would establish a good relationship by trading and forming an ally with other people.
Astrolabe- Used for better determine location at sea, formed in a brass circle with carefully adjusted rings marked off in degrees. The rings were used to sight the starts to calculate the latitude and the longitude Sextant- An instrument for measuring the height of the stars above the horizon.This was an advanced version of an astrolabe, which was more stabilized. It could be used to inside a vessel. Compass- Much more advanced and accurate than the astrolabe to track direction by this magnetic tool. It was used by navigators on voyages of exploration. Caravel- Caravel was first built in the 1400s. It was a sturdier vessel made so that it would sail against the wind. It has adopted triangular sails from the Arabs for maneuverability and square sails for more power.

Eventually Columbus did find a land which he was desperate to find, but it was not the country he was looking for. Columbus reached North America which he thought it was India. Amerigo Vespucci unlike Columbus did not contribute of discovering a new land but he figured out that the land that Columbus discovered was not Asia (India) but a "new world". Due to his discovery, the new world was named after Amerigo Vespucci.
Magellan was the first one to sail from the Atlantic Ocean into the Pacific Ocean.Also completed the first circumnavigation of the Earth. However, he was beaten to death during a local war in Philippines.
